Where do I put a new account for Salesman Commission?
Put it in your COST OF GOODS SOLD area, because it is a cost associated with those Sales.
With the Chart of Accounts window open, click on the Accounts button at the bottom left cotner (or CTRL + N) > Choose Other Account Types > Choose Cost of Goods Sold:
